Material Handler

We’re looking for a dedicated Material Handler in Elks Grove, IL to support our web press operations in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

Remove folded signatures from the web press and stack them on pallets for transfer
Load and unload materials using hand trucks, electric dollies, or other equipment
Count, weigh, and record quantities of materials moved on daily production sheets
Tag, label, or mark containers with identifying information
Remove roll stock cores and band assembled materials using banding equipment
Assist in press make-readies including plate retrieval, plate hanging, gluer setup, wash-ups, and more
Perform in-process quality checks to identify print defects (scratches, blemishes, etc.)
Operate or assist with automated equipment and sheeters
Maintain cleanliness around the press area per 5S standards
Assist with recycling efforts and processing waste properly
Communicate clearly during shift changes and contribute to inventory control tasks

Desired Background/Skills:

Previous experience in a manufacturing or print environment preferred
Comfortable performing physical tasks (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods)
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn press-related tasks
Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Good communication skills and attention to detail
Team-oriented and dependable
Steel toed shoes required
Must have weekend availability

Other Information:

Day shift 7am-7pm
Night Shift 7pm-7am
3 day 4 day rotating schedule
